Born of water and Spirit
One baptism offered
Into the blessed name
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
As surely as you are washed by blood You are forgiven and made whole As surely as you pass through water You emerge with a purified soul Born of water and Spirit One baptism offered The purification of sins A glorified new creation The whole earth lie polluted The expanse of sin grieving the Father Mercy given to one man’s family Earth recreated through judgemental water Born of water and Spirit One baptism offered The deliverance of sons A redeemed congregation Running for liberation Between Pharaoh’s army and the sea Waters divide at the word of the Lord Saved by waters purging the enemy Born of water and Spirit One baptism offered The pleasure of a Father Commencement of a ministry Son of God condescends to bathe Silencing objections of impropriety Father and Spirit revealing glory Reborn eschatological society Part 2: The Feast This is my body This is my blood Sacramental feast Upon the Lamb of God As surely as you feed upon Christ You are nourished by the Divine As surely as you look with eyes of faith You are grafted in the True Vine This is my body This is my blood Promissory presence Union with the Son of God Hear the voices cry to God in despair Blood stained lintel bread without leaven A meal to strengthen children called home Called out of death to a feast in heaven This is my body This is my blood Never left or forsaken Life and love for the downcast Sins old and new haunt the journey home Prone to forget the unending grace Find manna enough for daily bread Bountiful food here in the desert place This is my body This is my blood Shed and broken for you Behold God that feasts with man Friends gather around a table Words of brotherhood and tenderness Breaking the bread and sharing the cup Wedding feast bountiful and generous
