Breathe

Breathe in, breathe out
Release your fears, release your doubt
Breathe out, breathe in
Alone again within the crowd
Pulse beating so violently and loud
Time slows down to a creeping pace
Eyes dart around for a friendly face
Warmth of smiles from many faces
Reflecting back from hollow places
A cycle too familiar now
A lonely place to retake the vow
Words formerly of comfort and peace
Serenity lost they must cease
A darkness that spreads across the sky
A still quiet passes on by
Sitting silent alone among friends
Waiting for hope; darkness descends
A glistening in companion's eyes
Warmth and light from a new sunrise
Breathe in, breathe out
Embrace the light, behold dawn’s shout
Breathe out, breathe in
Feel the warmth again on your skin
Beautiful and sad. Thanks for sharing.
